About
S.A.S.S.

Serious About Speech Services (S.A.S.S.) is a mobile pediatric speech-language private practice dedicated to helping young children strengthen the communication skills they need to connect, participate, and thrive.

Serving children ages 1–5 throughout Broward County, S.A.S.S. provides individualized speech and language services conveniently on-site within participating early education settings. This model allows children to receive high-quality care in a familiar environment while making speech and language services more accessible and convenient for families.

At S.A.S.S., we recognize that no two children communicate, learn, or experience the world in exactly the same way. Our approach is play-based, culturally responsive, family-centered, and sensory-aware, with therapy thoughtfully tailored to each child’s strengths, interests, communication needs, and developmental level.

We believe meaningful progress extends beyond the therapy session. Through collaboration with families and early education professionals, S.A.S.S. focuses on developing functional communication skills that children can carry into their everyday interactions, routines, and relationships.

Above all, S.A.S.S. is committed to providing high-quality, evidence-based, individualized care in an environment where children feel supported, understood, and encouraged to communicate with confidence.

Meet The Founder

Tyra Gordon is the owner and founder of Serious About Speech Services (S.A.S.S.). She is a Florida-licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and is nationally certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Tyra has experience providing speech and language services across private practice and early education settings, supporting young children with a variety of communication needs.

Tyra earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with an emphasis in Behavior, Graduate Certificate in Communication Sciences & Disorders, and Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Florida International University.

At the heart of Tyra’s approach is the belief that children learn and communicate best when they feel safe, understood, and engaged. She provides culturally responsive, family-centered, play-based therapy that honors each child’s individual strengths, communication style, background, and sensory needs. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, Tyra thoughtfully adapts therapy to meet each child where they are while creating meaningful opportunities for communication through play and everyday interactions.

Tyra is passionate about making therapy functional, evidence-based, and enjoyable while helping children build the confidence and skills they need to communicate more effectively. Through S.A.S.S., she is committed to empowering children, partnering with families, and providing high-quality, individualized speech and language services within a welcoming and collaborative environment.
